Masters of Paper

Interview with Will & Caro
Carolyn Wong and William Du are Will & Caro. A talented duo that are demanding international attention with exhibitions in Sydney, Melbourne, London, Canada, and Miami. Working with delicate washi Japanese paper, Will & Caro create stunning art pieces that tell a story and inspire purity of mind.  In an era where technology is king, these delicate works with paper are examples of a dying art form and a more simplistic time. Maree Miller has a quick chat with the pair who made their exhibition debut during our very own Art Melbourne and have not looked back.

Into the Distance

“If a measure of great art is its ability to provide a commentary of a time, there are few better examples of a contemporary artist interpreting our turbulent lives. The apprehensive atmosphere conveyed by Robertson's figures is contrasted with the romance of his landscapes that not only offer redemption, but hope beyond the burden of our mercantile society.” Ralph Hobbs, Art Director, Art Equity
Maree Miller takes 5 minutes with James Robertson to talk about his latest solo exhibition, Into the Distance with Art Equity. Simply stunning.

The New Pretty

Interview with a Jazmina Cininas, Curator
The New Pretty is the first Australian solo exhibition by LA-based artist Erik Mark Sandberg. Drawing from contemporary consumer culture and its psychological effects, Sandberg's uncanny portrait gallery embodies the self-consciousness of a contemporary generation living under the social media microscope, and the double-edged promise of instant celebrity. Maree Miller chats with curator Jazmina Cininas, to find out more about Erik's colourful creatures and the story behind the exhibition.
