Australia China Art Foundation (ACAF) is a non-government non-profit organization dedicated to building active links in the contemporary art world between Australia, China and the Asia-Pacific region.

Our programs enable exhibitions, scholarships, seminars, internships, educational support, special events and art exchanges. The programs are designed to equip artists with first-hand experience of the hosting country, and to forge art links within the region. The Foundation has its home gallery in Melbourne and this includes suites of artist’s studios as part of artists interchange residence program. ACAF is being further augmented in its endeavors by affiliations with artist-run spaces in China, and patrons, commercial galleries, public and institutional museums in China, Australia and New Zealand. These affiliates share the vision of promoting interchange and the understanding of contemporary art in the region.

Australia China Art Foundation was founded by Yashian Schauble, an Australian, Chinese-born, business woman, with the support of a number of art patrons in Australia and China. ACAF is governed by a board of trustees drawn from the art and business community. The direction and implementation of our projects is set, and assisted, by Advisory Boards in China, Australia and New Zealand. These boards are made up of eminent figures with direct or indirect relation to the art world in both regions and include arts administrators, patrons, curators, collectors and artists.
