Tasty Chats from Art Series Hotels were perhaps the most indulgent of the Talking Art series! Curator Jane O'Neil, delighted audiences with art history lessons on some of Australia's most signifcant artists, John Olsen, Charles Blackman, and Adam Cullen.
On Saturday morning Art Melbourne visitors sipped on Innocent Bystander's famed Moscato and stuffed themselves silly with cupcakes, whilst Jane took them for a trip down the rabbit hole with Blackman.
It didn't stop there - art lovers were in for a treat later that afternoon with a candid panel discussion with some of the industry's most notable players. Alison Harper, editor of Art Market Report, lead the heated debate on the Rise of the Art Fair, with Rebecca Hossack of Rebecca Hossack Gallery, Ralph Hobbs of Art Equity, Tim Etchells, owner of Art Melbourne and co-founder of Art HK, and artist Morten Lassen. |

The playful curiosity ever-present in jazz and improvisation – the joy of discovery – is what this year's Melbourne International Jazz Festival is all about. Taking place from June 4 to 13, the Festival now includes the Queen's Birthday Long Weekend, allowing more time to enjoy the wonders of jazz in its many forms. Headlining the rollcall of international guests is the undisputable living legend, tenor saxophonist Sonny Rollins, in a rare visit to Melbourne. |
See you next year...
...for an even bigger art fair, with guest artists and international features that promise to once again impress and entice! Art Melbourne—further establishing the city of Melbourne as a catalyst for arts and culture globally. Watch this space... |
